Meet Poetic Licence Shoes

About a month ago I was shopping with my mom and I came across some gorgeous shoes. These shoes weren't just any shoes, they were beautiful in every single way. They were sparkly, artsy, and extremely poetic. Their style certainly matched their name, Poetic Licence. And yes, the "c" in Licence is correct (they are based in London).
I love these shoes because their details are exquisite and the shoes are just so artsy. Art breathed into shoes creates something truly incredible and lovely. I think these shoes are no exception. Take a look at the pumps I snapped a picture of below and tell me you don't see the same thing I do - that these shoes are simply breathtaking.
Now, the image above is mine, but I'd like to introduce you to some other shoes by Poetic Licence that I came across on the internet and I also think are stunning. You'll have to let me know what you think about all of these gorgeous shoes.
I think these shoes are very retro looking with their bow and beautiful design. Plus - you don't see the color green every day either. I would love to wear these pumps. They are so sweet and would look beautiful with a black dress or even a sweet coral dress.
These pumps are also very unique looking. Even though this isn't my favorite pair, I like how different they are. Their shoes are definitely different looking, which I think sets them a part from other shoe brands. The flower and the pop of orange is just too much fun - this would be a great pair of pumps to wear. They would brighten up a fun outfit during the summer time!

I think this pump looks like candy. Matter of fact, it reminds me of the board game "Candy Land." Ever played it? It's fun. But anyway, with the fun orange and pink color - these shoes would be fun to wear with a spring time staple! These shoes make me excited for summer to truly be here.
Poetic Licence also offers sandals and flats, which are equally beautiful. I love this shoe above because it has the perfect amount of detail, and it definitely marries vintage with modern. Just look at the beautiful colors and the cute embellishment - I'm about ready to take these shoes home with me right now!

I look forward to seeing what else Poetic Lincence has to offer. They certainly have gotten my attention with their stunning shoe designs. Expect for me to own a pair of these shoes soon and when I do I will definitely be blogging about it! :)

Jessica Simpson Offers Perfect Pumps

Whenever I go shopping I like to snap pics of pumps, especially if they are trendy or super cute. You all know my love for Jessica Simpson shoes, and coming across her pumps (especially new ones), are my favorite!

What I love about Jessica Simpson shoes is that they are all so creative and comfortable! To be honest the last time I've owned a pair of Jessica Simpson pumps was quite a few years ago...but a girl can appreciate them from afar, right? I think it's about time I own a pair of JS pumps and go out and have some fun with them on.
This is a picture I took in Nordstrom I believe when I saw this shoe design. It definitely looks better in person as opposed to on the website. I love the fun colors on the blue, yellow, and green shoe. I think JS definitely did a great job at infusing creativity into these pumps, don't you think?
This pump is my personal favorite. The blue suede and the peachy orange bottom part of the pump looks amazing. So I'm definitely ready to find a fun pair of pumps from Jessica Simpson. Are you?

New Silver Sparkly TOMS Shoes - What Do You Think?

Lately I've taken quite a liking to Instagram, an application on your smart phone where you can take pictures and post them. Then you can interact with others! It's so much fun - it's like Twitter and Facebook combined. If you're not on Instagram you should definitely join and if you do come and find me, I'm oceandreams4u. I've been having fun posting pics of my latest fashion finds, which of course includes shoes. ;)

So a few days ago I got my first pair of TOMS. I really like them, they're really sparkly and stylish. Plus, as you know, I love that TOMS will match my shoe purchase for a pair of shoes that will be given to a child in need.
 {via my Instagram}

I showed my new TOMS to my family and they think they are hideous looking. They love the idea behind TOMS, but they don't like the sparkles on the shoes. So now I'm coming to you asking you what you think. Are the sparkles too much? Should I have gotten a more basis pair?

I thought it would be fun having a sparkly pair of TOMS and a girl can never go wrong with sparkles, or so I thought. Then I showed it to my mom and she didn't like them. My brother and my dad had an even stronger reaction. Oops, that's not good.

I'm considering taking them back and getting a different pair, but I think I'll wear my pair of silver sparkly shoes proudly. After all, I'm a glam girl and I like my glam shoes. ;)

What do you think of my silver sparkly TOMS?

Current Shoe Lust

I've been lusting after shoes. Not just any shoes. These shoes:
These beauties are ASICS. They're designed for ultimate speed and comfort. Recently I've been running (as long as my tendonitis doesn't act up), and when I realized I needed a new pair of running shoes, I hopped online and saw these. I love them. They're bright, bold, and colorful. They would be amazing running shoes. I think I would wear them when I'm out walking about too.

So what do you think? Are you lusting after these shoes too or are they too bright and colorful for you?

Shoes That Fit The Mood

Today is one of the final warm days before the dreadful "cold monster" takes over Pennsylvania. This week has been beautiful so far and the weather just makes me want to call out of work, walk around outside and sip iced coffee while taking in the last few breaths of warm air.... but, everyone needs to pay the bills right? So I am sipping my iced coffee at the office and gazing out the window while doing my work of course! ;)

Since the past few days have been so great, I have taken the opportunity to spend every last minute of the warm weather with my classic black flats.

They are a staple and I just can't see my life without them. They are starting to fall a part, but I am not admitting to it...yet! They have taken me on many summer trips, walks around the mall, to the store for milk and even to a bar on a Friday night. They are my everything and exactly what I need this week!

Knowing that the cold weather is right around the corner, I have been hitting the snooze EVERY morning and I just can't deal with it right now. I am in the mood where I need comfort. I want to hold on to every warm moment and I am hesitant to face what's next. I just feel somewhat kiddish. I want to hide under the covers and go back to when picking my outfits out for a college class was the worst of my worries. Ahhhh the memories!

My mood this week may be trying to tell me something deeper about my future, but just like I said, I am hiding right now and I just want the comforts that make me feel safe... my flats of course! So I will wear them the rest of the week before the cold air blows in and the future starts to unveil. Soon I will put the black beauties away in the closet and become bolder and fierce to face what's coming next.

What will my mood be next week? You will just have to wait and see...

This will be a weekly post of the shoes that fit my mood for the current week. I hope everyone enjoys it and I look forward to sharing my thoughts and shoes with everyone!

The Health Benefits of Wearing Five Finger Shoes

Ever since my brother invested in his Five Finger Shoes I've found myself entranced with looking at his feet, wondering how they feel and wondering if I should get myself a pair. He wears them to the gym all of the time and tells me that he finds them so comfortable! I've never been a fan of the socks that have the separate "fingers" that separate my toes because it feels so odd, but maybe the Five Finger Shoes have a special way of making my feet feel at home.

If The Shoe Doesn't Fit actually has quite a few available that are up for auction and I am loving all of the different colors! Go ahead and click on the picture - it will send you straight to the live auction!
Now that you've seen a glimpse of all of the Vibram Five Fingers available, let's talk about health benefits of wearing these shoes. According to the site their are five reasons to invest in these shoes:

1. It strengthens your muscles in your feet and lower legs. By strengthening your muscles in your feet and legs, it improves your foot health and prevents injury!
2. Wearing these shoes also improves your range of motion in your ankles, feet, and toes. You don't have to worry about your feet being restricted because you are free to move around your toes.
3. They also stimulate neural function that is important for your balance and agility. A good fact to know is that your neurological receptors send your feet messages from the brain. In turn this improves your agility and balance.
4. Because your heel is not lifted, your body weight becomes evenly distributed. This results in proper foot alignment and a happy spine because your spine now has better alignment due to these finger shoes.
5. Overall you can move your feet, which allows your body to feel more natural, which is fantastic!

The health benefits for the Five Finger Shoes are pretty remarkable, and did you know that you can even run in these shoes? However, they have recommended shoes that are made specifically for running, so be sure to check them out on their website.

At this point in time I'm pretty much sold on these shoes. I love their style and the vibrant colors such as green and hot pink are awesome! If my brother thinks they are comfortable I think they would be too. Plus - you don't have to wear socks. I think that would be nice for a change. Excuse me while I head to a store to try on these shoes. After that I might just have to buy a pair on ITSDF's website!

Floral Shoes Bring Out the Happiness in You

You know how florals have been in style lately? Well did you also know that they can be seen everywhere on shoes as well? I happen to love florals because of their delicious patterns of pink, yellow, purple, and many other colors. They are so bright, colorful, and fun. Now that florals are absolutely everywhere, why don't we embrace them on shoes too? I love how they have taken over many styles of shoes, including pumps and flats.

Shoes are already like dessert, so adding additional colors and floral elements is just like frosting on a cake. In addition to florals, you will also find gems, sparkles, darling straps, and other elements that manage to look delicious on shoes. Speaking of edible dessert, let's take a look at the many styles of floral shoes that I will never grow tired of. In fact - they are so sweet looking that I wish I could eat them!
Betsey Johnson does not disappoint with her creative shoes. I love how there are splashes of green, pink, white, and black! Also, if you look closely there are two different floral patterns. Now that is what I call inventive.
These sweet pumps are super adorable and stylish with their edible florals and beige pumps. Can I please buy them right now?!
Floral flats are no doubt comfortable and cute at the same time. They also are dreamy and I love the shoe laces. Glance below for another sweet pair of shoes with laces.
Wedges! Not only are these wedges tall, they are sassy as well!
These pumps have to at least be four inches tall and I love the shade of blue and the criss cross strap elements.
More blue! The stylish bow and the way the florals blend in with this navy blue color is perfect.
Jewels and florals?! I would buy these flats in a heartbeat.

Floral shoes are a great asset to a simple outfit because you have the opportunity to make your floral shoes the focal point. With a lot going on, on your feet, you can wear a simple tee shirt and a pair of jeans. Or if you are feeling brave, go ahead and wear a short skirt or dress with your four inch floral heels or wedge sandals!

So what do you think of floral shoes? Is there too much going on for you or do you think they are lovely like I do? Whatever your preference is, I still love florals and that is not going to change. ;) When the summer is long gone and you miss those hot days, you can pull out your floral shoes and dream of your happy adventures to come in the months ahead.

Jessica Simpson's Fashion Empire, Starring Her Shoes

Happy Friday! So I have a question. What do you think about these shoes? Do you know who the designer is? It is none other than Jessica Simpson! I absolutely love Jessica Simpson shoes. Fresh out of college, I worked as a coordinator in a Residential Management Company, and I wore a pointy gold pair of heels by Jessica Simpson. I wore them the entire year I worked there until they were worn out! Since they were my first "official" pair of work pumps, I saved them. Yes, I get sentimental about my shoes. However, I also am still sentimental about them because I happen to love Jessica Simpson.
Yes, laugh if you want, but ever since I was a young teenager, I listened to Jessica Simpson's first album and first hit: "I Wanna Love You Forever." She is the only singer/actress/designer that I have truly kept up to date on all of her news. I admit, through the years Jessica Simpson has gone through her good times and bad (ie The Newlyweds and the demise of her marriage to Nick Lachey,) but she's always come out strong. New York Fashion cites that Jessica Simpson's fashion empire is worth one billion dollars. WOW! That's proof right there that anything is possible when you set your mind to it. Her music and movies may have not won the crowd over, but her fashion line certainly did. My favorite part of her fashion line? You guessed. it...the shoes. Let's take a look at a few other pairs I am currently lusting over.

So all of the shoe pictures you see above are just some of her shoes. Out of all of the designer shoes I own, Jessica Simpson's shoe line are close to being my favorite, because they are affordable, comfortable, and her style is just amazing. The girl has major fashion sense!
I have a goal for the If The Shoe Doesn't Fit sellers though. They need to post some Jessica Simpson shoes for auction, and pronto! Do you know of anyone who is looking to get rid of some Jessica Simpson shoes? Because I'd be happy to take the many many shoes off of their shoe plate! ;) Shoes can always help rescue a woman in need and in this case, they certainly have rescued Jessica Simpson.

Air Jordan Nike Heels?!

I've never been into basketball; instead I grew up playing tennis. I stayed mostly with Nike shoes, but really I just stuck with the tennis shoes that would help my feet glide across the court the best. When you are into sports you have to replace your athletic shoes quite frequently due to the use of them on a consistent basis. Later I gravitated towards Asics for running, but honestly, anything that looks fashionable while on my feet or has the color blue is good enough for me.

You see - I've always been one to incorporate fashion into everything, especially my shoes. I never bought just a boring pair of tennis or running shoes, I had to make sure they looked good. I think you would agree if you love fashion. It's hard to go running when you don't feel good about your feet, right? That's why I always make sure that I'm running, working out, or whatever sports related activity I am participating in, in style.

After I went to college I began to ran. I loved running so much that I ran in three 1/2 Marathons in the course of a few years, until I injured a muscle and made an unwise decision of continuing to run way too many miles  on an already injured leg. I haven't been running my 20 miles per week since. I admit I miss it a lot, but I think it was good to give my body some rest. Now I'm slowly getting back into it, even though I know it will take time, working out is worth it. Speaking of working out being worth it, what do you think of these?!

These, my friends, are Air Jordan High Heel Boots!! Can you believe it? I looove them. Not only for their style, but because I'm ecstatic that my love of tennis, running, and sports in general has been transformed into a work of art. This is one amazing pair of Air Jordan heels that I could wear on my feet over and over again without them being worn out like all of my other tennis shoes! Hopefully, that is, unless I wore them constantly. ;) Who would have thought?!

Now when I begin to miss tennis, which I haven't played in years by the way, or I begin to miss running, I might just have to consider going out and buying a pair of pumps like this. Who says you can't exercise with Air Jordan High Heel Boots instead? I might just give it a try and hopefully they will keep me from falling. What do you think of my new athletic, boots, heels, pumps, and it goes on and one... shoe want?

Stars and Their Love for Vera Wang Shoes

I always enjoy searching the internet for the latest trends and fashion statements. It's fun to see an actress, star, or singer wear one of your favorite designer's shoes so you can get a good idea what they look like on their feet! One of my favorite designers is Vera Wang. It's easy to understand why. Vera Wang is timeless, classy, and elegant. Her shoes sparkle and it's hard to turn away from such beauty. I went on a hunt on the internet for some actresses who wear Vera Wang and what kind of outfit they paired their stunning shoes with. Let me tell you - they all look fabulous in their Vera Wang shoes and outfits!

Click on each picture and it will send you to its source. :)
Paired with a gorgeous rose colored and form fitting dress, Nicky Hilton looks gorgeous in her pumps and dress at this Vera Wang event!
I love these shoes that Mila Kunis wore. Vera Wang is exquisite with its design in these platforms. They look comfortable and Mila even paired them with black nail polish. I love it!
Reese Witherspoon makes Vera Wang shine in this outfit. I love these black pumps on her, especially since she's shorter so I'm sure she likes the added height. I think she would look amazing in a pair of Vera Wang flats as well! Let's take a look at some of the Vera Wang shoes If The Shoe Doesn't Fit has on its site right now from various sellers.

So what are your thoughts on Vera Wang? Do you feel like a princess if you own a pair of Vera Wang shoes? When I think of Vera Wang I think of Sex and the City and I think of going to a royal ball. Now if only I could save up some money to get myself a pair! The "Nabia" Platform Pumps might be a great start. I love the way the silver glistens! If The Shoe Doesn't Fit has some fantastic sellers that have great taste in shoes: they have Vera Wang for an affordable price! ;)

Initial Thoughts

Shoes. While they’re undoubtedly a necessity, they’re also the subject of many a splurge, the talk of countless conversations among girlfriends, sometimes the reason given for an outstanding athletic performance. They’re made to protect feet but also to decorate them.

People of all walks love them and for lots of reasons. They’ve been embedded into popular culture. There are entire movies based around them: The Wizard of Oz, Cinderella, The Devil Wears Prada, The Christmas Shoes, and In Her Shoes. Musicians have been writing and singing songs about them for years: Elvis had his Blue Suede Shoes and The Beatles had an Old Brown Shoe, KC and the Sunshine Band had Boogie Shoes, Nelly had an outright obsession with his Air Force Ones, and Nancy Sinatra had a one wicked pair of boots.

Walk a mile in my shoes, wouldn’t want to be in his shoes, goody two shoes, who’s going to fill their shoes… there are lots of sayings we use about shoes; in fact, shoes have infiltrated the way we talk. If someone said, “I would kill for some Jimmy Choo’s” or “Check out my new Nike’s” most people would know exactly what they’re talking about.

Bowling, ballet, baseball, skiing, skating running, climbing, hiking, the beach, the bath, the bedroom; for the work room, for the weekend… each sport we do, each place we go, a person needs a different pair of shoes for every little thing they do. It’s no wonder there is such an obsession with shoes!

And while everyone needs them, some of us want them just a little bit more. Some people want 100 pair; 300 pair, 1000 pair! We want shoes in leopard print and purple patterns and every imaginable height heel. We want shoes for $1.00 but we'd pay $1000 and eat less (it makes the shoes look better anyway). We want vintage as well as new and special releases. We want to bronze them (it started when we were very young...), and we want to display them like art. We want the funky, the freaky, the fabulous. We wear odd sizes, or average sizes, it doesn't matter. Our boyfriends and husbands think we're crazy, our girlfriends think we're goddesses. What can I say, some us were born to be shoe addicts, and we've learned to live with it.
Take a breath… all you Carrie Bradshaws of the world, there is now a place to connect shoe lovers everywhere.  If The Shoe Doesn't Fit, is an auction site for shoe lovers.  A place to sell, swap or shop for shoes and shoe accessories, and this is the site's blog, dedicated to connecting all those people, whose lives are touched by shoes, in some way, for whatever reason.
I hope you'll join me, and our contributing bloggers in a conversation as we chat about shoes, life, and everything in between.
